Jay was finished with all of his assignments finally. It took him most of the day to finish the mountain of assignments that he had pushed aside for practice, training and general goofing off. Since he was done, and the guys and him would have a practice later, he headed out to the courtyard to relax. As per usual, he always had some instrument on him. This time it was one of his many guitars.
Not many people were out in the courtyard. How surprising in his opinion. So he headed over to one of the benches and just relaxed on it. He didn't care about the chilled factor. he had dealt with colder. He just closed his green eyes and played a few chords on his guitar. It soon turned into the guitar part of one of the guys newest songs, Black Diamond. In his head he was thinking of the other guys parts so he could keep in time with the music in his mind.

Zara had resigned herself to the library for hours on end and now she was ready to break free from it. Hugging her robes tight around her slender frame she walked out onto the grounds. The September wind was chilly but she liked the cold. Autumn and winter were her favourite seasons. The grass was still soft under her feet and Hogwarts seemed quite quiet. That was until she heard the faint sounds of a guitar somewhere.
Folding her arms around her Zara followed the sound, her curiosity getting the better of her. Finally reaching the courtyard she found someone sitting there with a guitar stumming away. As silently as possible she leaned against a pillar a gave a small smile. She was in a good mood today and he was good or she would have been less than impressed with him.

Jay was so into the song, that he hadn't noticed the audience of one that he had. Only when he was finished with the song and opened his eyes, did he notice her. He was pleasantly surprised. "why hello there, You look unusually happy today, Zara." He called her by her first name, which is surprising because more often than not, he would call her by her last name. But then again...he didn't want to ruin her good mood.
He had put his guitar on his lap as he looked over at her with a soft smile. He secretly wondered if she liked the song he was playing earlier. Mostly because sometimes he was a bit subconscious about the songs that they did. As the wind blew past, Jay had pulled his hood up

"I am. It's been a good day Jamison." Usually they were on last name terms but it had been a good day and she didn't want to be in full frontal bitch mode right now. She watched as he put the guitar on his lap. "That was a pretty decent song." Zara told him as he pulled his hood up. Never would she give him a full on compliment. No. Not in a million years.
Zara wasn't a Slytherin but to most it was a wonder why. Her behavour was certainly that of one. But the hat had decided long ago that her smarts would take her far. Ravenclaw was where she resided and it suited her fine now.

Jay shuddered lightly when she used his full first name. He wondered if she knew that he hated his first name and was doing this on purpose... or was it just a honest didn't know thing. He decided to disregard that thought for now. "i guess i can say that i am glad that even you have good days. " he was happy for her he supposed. because she was seemingly nicer when in a good mood. But he knew he shouldn't get used to that. another thing he shouldn't get used to was compliments from her... even veiled ones like the one she just said. "erm... thanks. It sounds better with the full band though.and of course... with the actual lyrics..." He laughed lightly.

A gentle breeze blew across the grounds and she hugged herself tighter. Although she like the cold her slender frame did not seem to cope well with it. Her lips pursed at his comment. Yes even she had good days. She was human after all. Sometimes she wondered if people knew her life if they would blame her for being like she was. Shaking that from her head, as she was not a girl who wanted the sympathy vote, she listened to him. "I guess that would be your opinion. Maybe it sounds better, maybe it'd sound worse." Zara shrugged. It wasn't like she cared. She liked what she had heard.

Jay shrugged in response of what she said. "i suppose it could just be my opinion... but it has a fuller sound... sort of Jazzy tone... with the whole band is what i mean. but perhaps some might just like one instrument... " He didn't know her preferences. He didn't care... or so he told himself. "I guess it is just one of those things people would have to listen and judge for themselves."
